Known issues: While Openshot is included, it is currently broken. But that's okay, because Kdenlive is working better than ever. Cinelerra is also included, for the first time.
On new Toshiba Satellite laptops, right-clicking isn't enabled on the touchpad. You can fix this by editing xorg as described here: http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtop...=694425#694425.
Not sure yet if this works on a Mac.
Deliberately kept WINE version at rt-1.2.3, because that was the last version fully compatible with JACK. However, all sorts of WINE versions are available from within PlayOnLinux. (A note on PlayOnLinux - after a program is installed from POL, go into the settings associated with it and choose the internal version of WINE if they want to stay compatible with the Studio 13.37 setup. But this isn't always necessary...)
Available from www.getstudio1337.com in usb stick format or as a paid digital download.
Thanks everybody for all your support over the years!

My impression of V2 is that it feels solid. Linux audio historically
has you dancing on eggshells, when adjusting, or adding to the system.
This feels more like polished mahogany. Hydrogen gave that impression first,
opened fast, ready to beat, and it's a key component. I use Rakarrack, zynaddsubfx
and timemachine on a regular basis, and they all do their job.
Here's a name-droppers list of vsts I tested in V2, using wine and reaper,
and found them fully useable, within reasonable cpu/ram expectations.
Native Instruments: Reaktor 5 (many many ensembles), Scanner, Razor, MicroPrism
Massive, Absynth, FM8, Guitar Rig (Kontakt 5, from 'Kontakt Elements' worked,
using it's Abbey Roads Drums, but my computer is too sorry to use mega commercial soundsets)
Cakewalk z3ta+ V1.5 and Rapture
U-he Diva, Zebra, TyrellN6, Bazille, ZebraCM, TripleCheese, and Zebraleete
IK Multimedia Amplitube 3, T-Racks SampleTank 2.5 SonikSynth II, Miroslav Orchestra, SampleMoog, SampleTron
Synthmaster (the newest version, older ones had gui lag)
Most all the popular freeware vsts that work in V1, should also work,
Ugo's now free collection, Tone 2 Firebird,
the legendary Synth1 V12 (99 soundbanks loaded!)
Free ampsims from LePou, Ignite, and TSE will cater to the guitarists on
a budget, without sacrificing quality. Grind Machine Free is a great new
Metal player's plugin, the pro version is a steal at $30
The more mundane things, like browsing youtube, and file management, are working fine.
An Update have fixed an issue, and brought a new kernel, so the future looks bright.
If anyone wants a turn-key linux experience, that can deal with many styles
of music and production, this Studio 1337 is a great choice.
Cheers

Add Wusikstation, and Cakewalk Dimension Pro, both excellent rompler-synth hybrids,to the working list.
Dimension was on sale for $15, and provides a wealth of samples and sfz files, which linuxsampler users could
put to use. 4 gig space needed to hold the collection.
Wusikstation is another rompler-synth, with many third-party libraries, such as Mistral,
and Drumatoxin, from Artvera. Drumatoxin maps collections of raucus percussion loops
to the keyboard, so building up unique high energy beats is simple.
Cheers
