Wpa_supplicant error (OpenSolaris 2008.05)
Hi!
i currently have opensolaris 2008.05 installed on my system. I successfully compiled the wifi card modules, and set up a interface called bcmndis0. However, i need to connect to a WPA-PSK wifi, and i needed to install wpa_supplicant. when i ran wpa_supplicant.....
Thomas@opensolaris:~/Desktop# wpa_supplicant ld.so.1: wpa_supplicant: fatal: libssl.so.0.9.7: open failed: No such file or directory
Killed
How can i fix this? Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Sorry, I have no more information. It seems you are using a broadcom based wifi card. According to the OpenSolaris community, Broadcom isn't providing any support or help outside Windows.
You'll probably have better luck with an Atheros or Intel based card.

No, my WIFI card does work on a WEP or no encryption network. However, it doesent work on a WPA-PSK network. My network card is supported, just there is an error in the program. I am beggining to think that i have to downgrade openssl and libcrypt to 0.9.7. But how should i downgrade them? If you cant, then is there any other program out there that can do it?

Again, you do not need to compile an obsolete version of wpa_supplicant while you are using a Solaris release that integrates its functionalities. The only command you want to configure wifi encryption is dladm.
Did you try what is suggested in the link I posted ?

Sorry that it took forever for a reply, but i did what you said. Everything seemed to work fine till there was in error output from the console: # dladm connect-wifi -e linksys_SES_44779 -k mykey bcmndis0
dladm: no wifi networks with the specified criteria are available
#
I know for sure that this is the network that i need to connect to (i checked caps and numbers). How can you fix this?
