There is quite a lot of information out on the web? You know I'm sure you can find plethora of information if you put a little effort into it. Asking questions on a forum like this is when you get totally stuck with a specific problem. Were not here to write novels and teach members step by step when there are already step by step instructions/manuals/howto's and so on already readily available out there if you just try to search around.

Like acid_kewpie stated, were not here to be your personal search engine. Were not trying to be rude, were just helping you along the way. Pointing you to find it will help you only find your own answers in the future if there is no one around to help you at all.

Just like this thread was started cause you didn't apparently scroll down the screen a bit to find out more information on Solaris. And no, solaris for x86 does cost 20 dollars, your apparently looking at the Sparc download which isn't going to work or install on your Compaq.

[edited]replaced text here, as it links you to illegal download[/edited]

Trickykid please look at that link and please read the .iso images. If you want you could reply back and tell me what you seen. You did not see sparc. you see x86. That's what you are going to see. Have fun.

And if you read the Sun License agreement regarding Solaris 9 x86, if you download that iso from that site that isn't a Sun official site, your breaking the law according to their license agreement.

Maybe you should reread the Sun site and link you referred to from your first post.
