Where is IP-address saved in?

Hi there,

As what i got from my working on Solaris, to configure an IP address for Solaris box, just put hostname and IP address to 2 files:

#cat /etc/hostname.dmfe0

#cat /etc/inet/ipnodes
# Internet host table
::1     localhost       localhost server1 loghost
However, i got confused when check ip 1 new Sun box. I know its address is but there's nothing in /etc/inet/ipnodes file.

That Sun box keeps its Ip address after it is rebooted.

My question is: where is its ip address saved in if it is not stored in IPNODES file?

Have a look at the more standard /etc[/inet]/hosts
