where is download rpm package for solaris9 ...
solaris 9 not includ it rpm tool, need to self install.where can dowload it?
|
Solaris is not using rpm but pkg (pkgadd, pkginfo, pkgrm, pkgtrans, pkg-get ...).
There is however rpm2cpio that allows extracting the files present in a rpm archive. |
i want to install JDS(java desktop syttem),when i run :
rpm -ivh pdksh-5.2.14-531.i586.rpm show after run: not found rpm how can i install JDS packages? moust to : rpm2cpio -ivh pdksh-5.2.14-531.i586.rpm? |
- this rpm looks like being for linux, not Solaris
- there is anyway no need to install pdksh on Solaris, as the real ksh is already there. - You'd better upgrade to Solaris 10 and get JDS3 bundled. |
yes, i find it like run in linux also.

You didn't tell it was for SPARC, and your i586 rpm installation attempt was quite not a clue to guess it ...
JDS SPARC support starts from Solaris 10 anyway. Should you want to stay with Solaris 9, you can install Gnome packages from blastwave. |
