Vertias & SVM check


How to check in a server whether veritas or Solaris volume manager is used for disk.

Couple of Ways:

1. Checking for package:
pkginfo -l | grep -i VRTS

2. Checking df -h and /etc/mnttab for entries related to md or vx.
For e.g. /dev/md/dsk/d30 (For SVM)
/dev/md/test-meta/dsk/d30 (For Metaset)
/dev/vx/testdg/dsk/d30 (For VVM)

3. Try running Volume manager specific commands:
metastat -acq (For Solaris 10/SVM/Metaset)
vxprint -Aht (For Veritas)
