Veritas Help

I used to be Veritas certified back in the day, now I can't recall a lick, besides the basics.

vxdg list (Should show me my disk groups?)

From there I select a DG and try a vxvol stop <DG> and it replies:
"VxVM vxvol ERROR V-5-1-5455 Operation requires a disk group"

Didn't I just supply it a DG?

Maybe not, so I do a vxprint -hrt | more and find my DG and try again, with the same results.

The Goal is to completely remove the dg and vxedit/vxdg destroy are all telling me that I have associated volumes.

Oi.

Help please?

Hi.

I use:

To see the volumes in the DG:
# vxprint -g <DG> | grep ^v

(for each volume in the DG)
# umount /mount/point
# vxvol -g <DG> stop <volume>
# vxassist -g <DG> remove volume <volume>

Then to destroy the disk group:
# vxdg destroy <DG>

<usual disclaimers about data loss, backups etc>
