Usual way to install SunOS packages

What is the best way of installing SunOS packages? I tried using Blastwave at my first installation but I saw that it installed its own packages and duplicated some installed packages.
For now I am using some packages from sunfreeware and individual packages from blastwave.

Thanks in advance

You can spawn pkgsrc.org there, one of supported platforms is Solaris: http://www.netbsd.org/Documentation/...html#platforms

The "best" way is to install packages via pkgadd. Sun distributes a number of open source packages on their companion CD.

Is there a repository or ftp somewhere where these updated Official packages are stored or are they only on the companion cdrom?
