I GOT THIS TAR FILE FROM WWW.SUNFREEWARE.COM & THE NAME OF FILE IS BASH-3.0-SOL9-INTEL-LOCAL

This doesn't look like a tar file, but a package.
Sunfreeware installation steps are clearly explained on its site.
Here's they are: as root, run
Code:

pkgadd -d bash-3.0-sol9-intel-local
PS: please refrain from using unnecessary uppercase in your postings, that's considered bad behaviour on the Internet.
