Unable to telnet/ssh solaris10

I am using Windows XP SP2, I have installed Solaris10 in VMware as Guest OS.
I have given the same IP address in vmware as well as while installing solaris 10.

I use host-only connection setup in Vmware.

Could anyone help me in fixing this issue.

Did you try any network diagnostics like ping?
Can you provide say a PuTTY connection log?
Is the telnet or SSH daemon actually up and running?
