Txt extension file translation
 

I copy a .txt file from solaris into Winxp by samba. However, the end of each line is diplayed
by a upper arrow in winxp not like as unix. I wonder some methods to translate the upper arrow in the end of each line into the intented paragaph.

These problems usually occur when winxp is not able to translate some characters...from what I understand, this character that you are talking about should be a '\n' character ...

Why dont you try opening the same file with some microsoft word or wordpad ? I guess that it should be working well..

According to your advice of using wordpad or word for opening, I found that the "\n" will be not displayed. however, I also want to know some text translate command
for editing the "\n" character to be substitued with space.

the commands you are looking for are dos2unix and unix2dos
