You could move it to the Solaris forum if you want unSpawn
But when your compiling, is this during the configure, make or make install ? What step are you getting this error and is openssl in your path? Are you installing as root or a regular user?
I'm assuming that you have already installed OpenSSL here. When you are compiling OpenSSH, set your CPPFLAGS and LDFLAGS to point to the proper OpenSSL directories.
