Something similar to "cat /proc/device" under Linux?

I'm working on Solaris 5.8 on a Sun Fire V880 from about 1 month.
My previous experiences were mainly with Linux and SGI IRIX.
I'm looking for something similar to cat /proc/something under Linux to get information about hardware devices (i.e. cpus).
I would appreciate also some reference to kernel documentation, even a comparison with Linux kernel.

Thanks to all
