Post Solaris zone Kernel version

Hello Community,

If I run uname -a in a Generic_Virtual sun4v sparc the output does not show a kernel version and not even in the /etc/release.

Does this zone use the same kernel version of the server that hosts that zone?
Or are there any other way to see the kernel version?

You are not running a kernel zone but a branded one.
A branded zone is presenting itself as an older Solaris version to the userland applications, but this kernel bits aren't used at all. The global zone kernel is the only actual kernel running and it is accessed through a thin layer of "glue code" located between the older Solaris libraries and the actual Solaris host.

The local kernel version is not that relevant, given the fact it is unused.
The global zone kernel is hidden to the branded zone.
