I have a problem with Sun Server Sunfire v490. it has been configured some months ago. a person have been leave now how configured. how can i recover its root password while i have not VGA card in sun fire machine it is configured with remote machine with softwares minicom and putty. please give me the seggession how can i solve this issue.

From minicom or putty, you can press #. to go into (A)LOM and then type to get the OK prompt. Then follow the instructions here to reset the root password

I have a sunFire v490 Server Machine it is already configured with any ip address and assign some password by windows machine .it configured with port serial Managment, my intel system there is not any serial port, i use the serial to USB converter in between a windows machine using software putty. Now I have been lost of root password and i also forgot its ip address because i use this machine after 1 year. when i use command on sun workstation #tip hardwire" then its show the prompt Enter login name I assign root then its come enter password that i forgot. what can i do in this situation. please give the the detail information with step wise
