Solaris on Intel architecture

hey can anyone tell me if solaris runs on an intel architecture machine????

if not then what do i do to have experience on solaris!!!!!

Yes, there is an entire x86 Solaris port, although its no longer free from Sun. It costs around $50.

If You want to try it on its own architecture, there are plenty of old Sparcs and Ultras on Ebay for around $300 or so for a decent set-up.

by the way, are the binaries different for an intel arch???? i guess they must be, but just confirming...

Oh yes, very much a different set. Actually, I was in a bit of a hurry typing out that last post, so one more thing; Sun only stopped giving away x86 Solaris 8 a few months ago, and its still available at some of the international mirrors, allegedly.
