Solaris Nis Client
 
I have a Solaris 8 workstation bound to a Linux NIS server. When I issue any yp commands they all come back with the correct responses. I can su - to a user account and the automount for the home will attach. The problem is, I can not log in from the Solaris login window as a nis user I get "Invalid password". Local users can log in fine. Do Solaris and linux have a conflict with the way they interpret the shadow files?

(1) What is the output from ypwhich in your solaris 8? (To confirm the NIS server)
(2) What is the domain name of Linux server?
(3)What is the output from ping Linux_Server?
