Slocate is supposed to support Solaris as a target platform, although I've experienced instabilities with some versions.
There's an slocate tarball available on http://www.billypatton.com/downloads/slocate_2.3.tar.gz that you may want to try. (binaries are for SPARC, recompile for x86)
