Solaris Flash archive to tape issues
Hello, I have been trying to move my flash archive image onto a removable tape located at /dev/rmt/0. I have created the flar archive called proxy.flar using the following: flar create -c -n proxy.flar proxy.flar. It currently is stored on my /var partition. However trying to move this to tape for tape based flash installs using
dd if=proxy.flar of=/dev/rmt/0n obs=1024000
gives me an error everytime I do a flar info -t /dev/rmt/0. What could be wrong? I cannot restore when I boot into single user mode because the OS never finds the archive when I select tape.
Here is an error when using flar info -t on the /dev/rmt/0 disk drive:
bash-3.00# dd if=proxy.flar of=/dev/rmt/0n obs=1024000
bash-3.00# flar info -t /dev/rmt/0
ERROR: Could not read cookie from /dev/rmt/0. Are you using a large enough block size?
Thanks
Don
