Solaris 8 Hanging on Installation
Hi
We have a Sun Ultra 2 machine and we are installing Solaris 8 onto it. This machine is standalone. The installation starts without problem, then reboots to enter the GUI to continue. The machine now HANGS at this point and will not continue. Any one got any ideas on what this could be and how to get around it? Thanks in advance Paul |
I had the same problem once. It turned out that the CD I was using was corrupt/damaged.
Swapping for a proper CD solved it for me. That might be worth a try? // Mike |

Then I'm fresh out of ideas.
I can't remember if Solaris creates an installation log or not? If so, there might be some info in that one if you can read it after a reboot. // Mike |
Solaris installation log goes to:
/var/sadm/system/logs/install_log |
