SOLARIS 10 RELEASE 06/06. Equals more HW Support?

I am just about to download Solaris 10 R-6/06...And my question is, will it have more Hardware support than the previous release of Solaris 10 for X-86 systems??

I read that it will have more security features too..Which I really need..But I dont know about more H/W support though...

solaris 9 works very nice on my hp intel box and solaris 10 update 2 on amd athlon64 3800+ wow, i no longer see any problems i had with previous 2 releases (10 and with update 1). everything is just smooth. no need to boot verbose, no need to decipher. no nothing. i think i will stay with this update 2 for a long time. and we have opera 9 working now.

i don't know and am not interested in what effort sun made to this hardware support. it's nice to have it now on my box so that i can start enjoy it. i use a system, but not work on a system.

noticed the change on the companion dvd. there was no installer provided. but the readme file is clear enough. i would expect an installer back if possible.

the only thing i miss is eudora then. but hey, i don't even have eudora running on linux yet.

Ok...So what it is really called?? I am a bit confused...Is this new UPGRADE release still the same as having Solaris 10? And where can I download this please? In other words...Is this new release still considered Solaris 10? But with new updated features??

And will it have BETTER Hardware support than the first release of Solaris 10?

OK...Heres what I am downloading:

Solaris 10 OS, x86, for downloading onto WINDOWS ONLY Platform - Solaris 10 6/06 Operating System

My question is, will this version of Solaris 10 have more Hardware support? Do guys know?

Wait a second....The files what I'm downloading are actually EXE files...I need the ISO versions to download..So how come there in the EXE format? Here...Heres one of them..The first release of Solaris 10 I had them in ISO format...Whats the deal here? Can someone please explain?
sol-10-u2-ga-x86-v3.exe

Thanks!!!!

Hello???

Can somone PLEASE answer this for me? Is this new release of Solaris 10 6/06 will support more Hardware for Intel PCs?

I believe a .exe file is a file that is to be executed on Windows.

If you need .iso files, better to download them in the first place.

Your second question was already answered, yes, new H/W is supported.
