Solaris 10 on VMware Workstation? (Guest OS)
If I install Solaris 10 on VMware workstation on the HOST OS (Windows XP), do I have to still check the hardware compatibilty list?
For example, lets say my HOST OS computer's network adapter is not compatible with Solaris 10, will the GUEST OS (Solaris) on VMware would still be able to connect to the internet using the network adapter from the HOST OS (Windows)? Because on my laptop, when I installed Solaris a while back, Solaris did not recognize the network adapter. So, my question is, if I install Solaris on VMware, would VMware make the Guest OS (Solaris) connect to the Internet? Perhaps, would VMware use the network adapter from Windows (HOST OS) for me to connect to the internet using Solaris as a GUEST OS under VMware?? Thanks. |
