Solaris 10 on AMD. 'Cannot display this video mode' error

Hi Helping Folks,
I'm new to Solaris and Unix. I installed Solaris 10 on AMD Sempron desktop and everything went well. When i reboot the system, it displays this error "cannot display this video mode" after initialization. I tried to log in the safe mode , but don't know how to change settings in kdmconfig, as system is not locating this file/facility. I'm using an HP 17" flat panel.
Please suggest step by step instructions as to a Kindergartener.
thanks.

If that means a "not found" error, run "/usr/sbin/kdmconfig".

Thanks for the response.
I'm able to start in the failsafe mode only and it's not finding kdmconfig under any directories. It's logging me as a default user only.
Hope you can figure out more.
Thanks

Try running "mount /usr" then "/usr/sbin/kdmconfig".

Hi,
Everything else is working as expected and i can use the CDE etc. But I'm unable to configure my network settings and so this machine has just become a standalone. Whenever i try to plug in the DSL/T1 cable, the system stop responding to any command and i have to reboot it after unplugging the cable as it don't even reboot with cable plugged in. I tried reinstalling with cable plugged in , but it donot allow me to install even. After i unplug the cable, and reinstall, everything work OK.
Please help with your valuable suggestions.
Thanks

I never heard of a server behaving that way.

The is probably something very wrong in your network configuration.

You can exit the graphic environment and log in in the console mode, then plug your cable and see if some error/panic messages do show up.

It recoganises the cable and shows the rtls0 link up at 100Mbps and no error messages. But after some time the system just freezes and don't accept any inputs either in the console mode.
