OK, so we have a CentOS 5.4 server running 389 DS. Authentication from Linux and Windows works really well. Authentication from Solaris 11 also works. Solaris 10 I can "su -" to one of the LDAP accounts and it works very smooth. I can also do a "getent passwd JoeUser" and get the information, as well as "ldaplist -l passwd JoeUser". Ldapsearches also work. Yet I cannot log in to the ldap accounts from the console, via ssh, or "su - JoeUser" from a local account. The /var/log/secure log on the Linux server does not show any attempts from this Solaris 10 Server trying to authenticate. All other access from other machines are logged though. I've been looking into the pam.conf, something must be off but I'm not sure. Here is my file.

Any thoughts or ideas? When I try to "su - JoeUser" from a normal local account it says unknown ID JoeUser.

No go on that file, is it a working copy from your server? Running Solaris 10 U10 here, tried the file but same result.
