Solaris 10 Installation problem

Hi,

I have x86 machine with P4, 512 MB with 17" ViewSonic TFT screen. I installed Solaris 10 and i am geeting the error messages like "Notice: failed to initialize inband hot plug controllers." while booting. Later am getting the shrinked window in single line.

I thought itd because of video settins, i tried
kdmconfig (or)/usr/X11/bin/Xorg commands in Fail safe mode. But its not working. Its giving the error message "/X[139]: /usr/X11/bin/Xorg: not found". Please anyone help me on this installation

What do you mean by "not working" ? You need to provide more details.

You need to be logged in as root to run kdmconfig. It looks like you aren't.

You have a broken PATH in root environment.

Try /usr/sbin/kdmconfig

I tried this command. Though the kdmconfig present in the /usr/sbin directory it produces the output as /usr/sbin/kdmconfig not found.

Your Solaris installation is more than broken.

If there is really no more /var/sadm/install directory, nothing is reasonably recoverable.

Your best option is to reinstall from scratch.
