show rx tx on ge0

In linux I get rx/tx when I type ifconfig.

In solaris not.

How can I get these infos ?

linux:

ifconfig eth0
eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr xx:xx:xx:xx:xx
inet6 addr: xx:xx:xx:xx:x:xx64 Scope:Link
UP BROADCAST SLAVE MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
RX bytes:0 (0.0 b) TX bytes:0 (0.0 b)
Interrupt:20

solaris:

ifconfig ge0
ge0: flags=1000843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,MULTICAST,IPv4> mtu 1500 index 3
inet xx:xx:xx:xx netmask ff000000 broadcast xx:xx:xx:xx
ether x:xx:x:xx

So how do I get the RX bytes and the TX bytes as I would like to use rrd to make a throuput graph!

That worked thank you.

BTW: why 64 because of the 64bit OS ?

All the counters were originally on 32 bits integers, and are still maintained for compatibility, these 64 bit counters are available even when Solaris run in 32 bit mode, and reduce the roll over issue.
