sendmail adds "com.gr" in the end of mails

There is a Solaris 10 system that is dns and mail server. Very often when the mail server receives a mail ending by ".com" it adds in the end the ".com.gr"
That is what is in the syslog file
syslog.0:Sep 6 08:45:08 ultra sendmail[932]: [ID 801593 mail.info] v865aYxN0009
18: to=mrver3@gmail.com, delay=00:07:54, xdelay=00:07:30, mailer=esmtp, pri=6576
1, relay=gmail.com.com.gr. [192.64.147.231], dsn=4.0.0, stat=Deferred: Connectio
n timed out with gmail.com.com.gr

Thanks in advance
Vassilis

Is there an actual question here? I'm guessing you really want to know WHY it's adding com.gr.

Nobody here can tell you, because you don't include any useful information.

What have you checked? What steps have you taken so far?

When you say the mail server "receives" a mail, where? Internally? Externally? The log extract you show would indicate that your mail server is trying to send a mail out to gmail.com rather than receive it.

Check whatever the Solaris equivalent of resolv.conf is, you may find that something in there is appending com.gr as a search domain and somewhere along the way your DNS resolution is broken.

Correct this is my question.
Well the problem when it receives a mail externaly. It receives it correct but when the mail delivered to the user very often at the reply has added the com.gr. I have made telnet to port 25 to give manually the mail commands. I did the same test 2 times. One mail was ok the second one has problem in the reply.
I checked the sendmail.cf. I also checked the dns but the site has too many domains that resolvs. I' ll check the DNS again
Thanks for your answer
