Remote desktop/XDMCP config help please
Well I figured it out - I will post a complete guide tomorrow to getting it up and running just in case anyone else needs this - cause I had to scour the net to get all the bits and pieces to get it going - and stayed at work till 9...I am obsessive when I want to get something done.
.........
Ok so we are using a U45 with Sol 10 here with a raid on it - most other projects the customer just kept the raid and the machine out on a desk - what they had us do this time is put the raid and machines in the rack because they really wanted to cut down on noise.
The deal is now that XDMCP is being a pain - I have done the below and still nothing - it tries to connect and gives me a blue starter X screen - then after awhile it dies.
One of the major problems is I should be able to do
# netstat -an | grep 177
And get *.177 Idle
But I do not...
*UPDATE* Ok so far I have found and done the following..it still is not working but this is what is supposed to make it work.
edit /etc/dt/config/Xaccess
*.your.domain.name
*.your.domain.name CHOOSER BROADCAST
then make sure that cde-login ( or the dtlogin part ) is not blocking the port
svccfg -s cde-login setprop dtlogin/args=\"\"
svcadm restart cde-login ( or " enable " if not enabled )
So far no luck...
*UPDATE*
Well so far its getting really irritating - because it really should be working - now I can finally launch a remote X session...but it dies right away and says:
XDM:too many retransmissions
The client gives this error in /var/dt/Xerrors:
XDMCP fatal error: Manager unwilling Host unwilling
Also giving me this " Couldnt find the keyfile " thing
