All I've ever used for console connections is TIP, what would be the winXP equivalent?
...by which I should be saying: I have a headless Ultra5, presumably in good working order, and I wish to make a console connection. I have only a WinXP box, and have only done similar connections using TIP from a Blade to sun v100,v210,v240's.
I've used an ethernet cable with the SUN db9-rj45 adapter, since the server serial port has an rj45. How would one go about cabling this situation?
Perhaps, but I would think the Solaris admin's are more likely to have done this before.
(FTR, initial post was re-edited during the time of Spooon's reply)
..and it turns out to be a cabling mistake.
Null modem cable-->db25 port(A) and any ol' terminal works on the PC.
`teraterm` does have nice features like sending 'stop A'.
Thanks.
