Patch Server on Solaris 9

Hi !
I want to configure Patch Server on Solaris 9. All i want is that there is Patch server which gets all patches updates from internet and then other system get those updated patches from that specific Patch Server.
Which tools will be used and how Patch Server and Clients will be configured.
Regards.

You may want to have a look at this alternative client, although it would need some modification to access a local patch repository:

then chmod + xpca and the execute ./pca before that i also save patchdiag.xref to /var/tmp/patdiag.xref n the ./pca execute normally but when i tried commands like pca -l all n others i gave me error command not found.

i cannot register to sunsolve.sun.com as i dont have valid Sun Service Plan. wat should i do now?

jlliagre 08-02-2006 01:27 AM

You do not need a Service Plan to register, see http://sunsolve.sun.com/search/docum...ey=1-9-82023-1

However, I'm not sure the license allows to redistribute the patches, which is what you want to do (unless local distribution is not in the scope).

A simpler solution would be to purchase a service plan, with which you'll also be able to get the restricted patches.
