Patch Server on Solaris 9
Hi !
I want to configure Patch Server on Solaris 9. All i want is that there is Patch server which gets all patches updates from internet and then other system get those updated patches from that specific Patch Server. Which tools will be used and how Patch Server and Clients will be configured. Regards. |
This is probably what you are looking for:
http://docs.sun.com/source/819-1128/ I can tell more, as I never used nor know the product. |
i got this link. The problem is Sun Patch Manager for Solaris 9. I m not getting it. As i told u sun official site got Sun Patch Manager for Solaris 8.
Dont know from where i can get Sun Patch Manager for solaris 9. |
You may want to have a look at this alternative client, although it would need some modification to access a local patch repository:
http://www.par.univie.ac.at/solaris/pca/ |
I tried to configure it but there was some problem i was thinking to ask u. i will try to configure again n ask u if still there some problem exist.

Have you a Sun Online Account ?
|
no i dont .
|
Looks like you currently need one:
http://sunsolve.sun.com/README.txt |
i cannot register to sunsolve.sun.com as i dont have valid Sun Service Plan. wat should i do now?
|
You do not need a Service Plan to register, see http://sunsolve.sun.com/search/docum...ey=1-9-82023-1
However, I'm not sure the license allows to redistribute the patches, which is what you want to do (unless local distribution is not in the scope). A simpler solution would be to purchase a service plan, with which you'll also be able to get the restricted patches. |
