oracle on solaris, needed urgent help, require it for exams?
Hi all,
I wanted to know how to install oracle on solaris (b83)..
I also would like to know of a link that i can download oracle from?
please reply fast..
I need it for my exams day after tomorrow...
please reply
Is Oracle not a proprietary piece of software? Don't think it's available openly for download, doubt anyone here is gonna help you circumvent copyright laws!
What about a MySQL database, or PostgreSQL? They are excellent open source RDBMS.
But are the commands the same as in oracle?
I can handle if its slightly different but not too much...
Anyway i will install xp for this time...
Then once my exams are over,we could ponder over installing oracle....
As a developer you can download Oracle to do development work - you need a licence to use it in a commercial environment. There's more info on the Oracle site.
As far as installing it goes, you might be able to tweak the info at http://www.puschitz.com/ for Solaris, but I haven't tried that myself (it works for Redhat, Suse, Fedora and Slackware though).
