not able to change root password.
 

Hi,

I have logged in as root, but unable to change the root password.

getting error

# passwd root
New Password:
Re-enter new Password:
passwd: Unexpected failure. Password database unchanged.
Permission denied

Please suggest.

This is most often caused by a full disk.

Can you post the result of df -h?
