My doubts before installation and dual booting and ...HELP !
Hi boys !
I'm going to delete a fedora partition 'cause fedora can't recognize my new printer and is giving me some other problems and install over it opensolaris 10 in a win xp sp2/solaris dual boot and i'm gonna ask you all your help for all this ..
1)Can solaris write on fat32 partitions ? I use to make backups of my stuff on a USB HD with fat 32
2)If so,how?does it work by itself or do i hove to install something like ntfs-3g ?
3)How is the packet manager called?Has it a GUI too?I love Yast of Suse and Yum of Fedora
4)If my DVD-BURNER is fully supported under Linux,so it should work in SOlaris too, doesn't it?It's a SAMSUNG USB2.0
(My internal eide Pioneer dvd.burner works only with win xp)
5)My actual printer is a all-in-one Epson Stylus Color DX7000f,Works perfectly under opensuse..does anyone use it under solaris ? Does it work ?How and Where can i see if it's supported ?
Distribution: Solaris 11.4, Oracle Linux, Mint, Debian/WSL

There is no such thing as opensolaris 10.
I would suggest you to install the latest Solaris Express release.

Yes.

Nothing is required. By the way ntfs-3g isn't for fat32 but for ntfs.

pkgadd, pkgrm, pkginfo, ...
You have pkg-get too, closer to your expectations.

Not that much.

There is a work in progress to provide similar tools for Solaris.

Not necessarily. Linux drivers more than often use the single GPL license which forbids them to be ported on Solaris.

It is likely to work.
