Motherboard has been failed by POST. Solaris 10 on Sun fire V240
 
Hi All,

I m having Solaris 10 Server on Sun Fire V240.

After rebooting this server i am getting below error message. Please suggest what would be the problem


Error :

Power On Selftest Failed.
CPU: 0 cause: MB/P0/B1/D1 (Bank 2), motherboard
CPU: 1 cause: MB/P0/B1/D1 (Bank 2), motherboard

Notice: CPU 0 has 1024/2048 MB of memory disabled.

Error : The following devices are disabled: dimm3

Error: POST failed.

SC Alert: MB/P0/B1/D1 (Bank 2), Motherboard has been failed by post

SC Alert: MB/P0/B1/D1 (Bank 2), Motherboard

It appears that one of your memory boards is not working.

You could try unplugging the machine from the electrical outlet for ten minutes then plugging it back in. It may work.

If that doesn't work then
if you have a hardware service contract or if the machine is under warranty call for repair
else if you feel comfortable opening up the machine then remove the memory board and see if the machine will pass its self test.
