Media codecs for Solaris?

Hi all. I have installed VLC media player via OpenCSW SFE and when playing an MP4 file, it is a bit flakey (i.e. cutting in and out). Also, I have tried to play the same MP4 file with Totem (the built in media player) and it says I need an MP4 codec.

Has anyone any ideas as to how I can get media codecs installed and working on Solaris 11.3?

Many thanks and regards,

Emil.

fat chance, they are not free. that is one reason I decided to not use it, the other reason is it takes to long to shut down on my laptop.

Solaris is free but it is not a (free) open source provider / supporter, per se'.

I could not find any free multimedia support for movies or music. but you can keep looking around because that was about a year ago. things change, sometimes.

Thanks all for the replies I will give both suggestions a go. I like Solaris personally and I am probably the only person who uses it at home! LOLZ!
