Login problem

Hi every one,

I have created a user in my solaris 8, but i could not loging the user. If i try loging through the useraccound the again and again login screen only comes. I can login as root.

What is the problem in my configuration? could you please help me?

Make sure you have set a password for the user first
as root on the command line:
# passwd <username>

how did you create this user's account?
to create the userid 'person' i would use:

# useradd -d /export/home/person -m -g 14 -u 123 -c "User's Name" person

then set the password and it should all work.

1: Can you log-in with a failsafe session ?
2: As root and from the command line, can you "su - username" ?
Any error message ?
