List Installed Patches by Live Update?

Hi,

Is there any ways to list patches installed by Live update on Solaris 10 (Solaris 10 11/06 s10x_u3wos_10 X86)? A friend of mine did Live Update for his Solaris and after rebooting the system, it does not boot up. Apparently, he can get to the fail-safe mode but it automatically reboots during boot-up process if he chooses to boot up normally.

I think backing out some kernel related patches might resolve his problem, but he doesn't know what patches have been applied to his system and there is nothing under the /var/adm/patch/ directory.

So... I'm in need of your help to find out where (and if) Solaris keeps a historical log of installed patches (possibly with timestamp) somewhere (else).

Thank you in advance for your help,
gibb

Check out /var/sadm/patch for a list of installed patches.

oh. I meant for /var/sadm/patch (my apologies for mis-spelling). He looked at that directory and found nothing there.

Do you know if Live Update stores installed patch information another location?

Thank you for your help.

If you are referring to "Live Upgrade" instead of "Live Update", you can revert back to the previous unpatched/un-upgraded boot environment.

My friend has already re-installed Solaris 10 on his troubled system and I can't debug the problem anymore... but thank you all for your inputs. much appreciated.
