List Installed Patches by Live Update?
Hi,
Is there any ways to list patches installed by Live update on Solaris 10 (Solaris 10 11/06 s10x_u3wos_10 X86)? A friend of mine did Live Update for his Solaris and after rebooting the system, it does not boot up. Apparently, he can get to the fail-safe mode but it automatically reboots during boot-up process if he chooses to boot up normally. I think backing out some kernel related patches might resolve his problem, but he doesn't know what patches have been applied to his system and there is nothing under the /var/adm/patch/ directory. So... I'm in need of your help to find out where (and if) Solaris keeps a historical log of installed patches (possibly with timestamp) somewhere (else). Thank you in advance for your help, gibb |
Check out /var/sadm/patch for a list of installed patches.

oh. I meant for /var/sadm/patch (my apologies for mis-spelling). He looked at that directory and found nothing there.
Do you know if Live Update stores installed patch information another location? Thank you for your help. gibb |
If you are referring to "Live Upgrade" instead of "Live Update", you can revert back to the previous unpatched/un-upgraded boot environment.

My friend has already re-installed Solaris 10 on his troubled system and I can't debug the problem anymore... but thank you all for your inputs. much appreciated.
