Talking libcurl for solaris 10

I have downloaded and install all the pre-compiled software that are listed here on solaris 10 u9 all from http://sunfreeware.com/indexintel10.html
(curl,zlib,libidn,libiconv,libintl,libssh2 and openssl-1.0.0.d)
and the following error is appear when i try to ./configure another package which depended on libcurl

checking curl/curl.h usability... yes
checking curl/curl.h presence... yes
checking for curl/curl.h... yes
checking for curl_version in -lcurl... no
configure: error: libcurl was not found and is required.

does I have to find libcurl or does I have to attend something useful from u guys?

Hi,

Set the LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/lib:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH variable before running ./configure

Still citadel, like your other threads ?

'configure' checks for 1) libcurl 2) curl_version.
It seems that citadel doesn't like the symbol 'curl_version' in the Solaris
libcurl. Will also fail with another curl version.
( I tried yesterday with curl-7.21.5 ).

A workaround omitting the check for 'curl_version' : configure ends OK.
But make fails with several (12) "Undefined symbol".

No errors with citadel on Linux.

..

Remove the section in 'configure' that checks for curl*

According to this duplicate thread
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...t-self-876331/
... You already got a Makefile. And make will bring you to :
""ld: fatal: Symbol referencing errors.""

The errors look like those I got on OpenSolaris.
I have no solution, that will create a working "citadel".
( Except for using a Linux OS for citadel.)

I had passed this step by using curl 19.0 which enables me to compile as needed and open ssh 0.98 too. thx for ur help, I got a new error which is missing function strdup() of gcc(which I have tried in both solaris and (gcc346 or libgcc)).that I got obstacle when gmake is executed.
