kernel warning pfil

I have implemented ipfilter on sol10 sparc. Pfil is enabled in /etc/ipf/pfil.ap for my eri interfaces.

modinfo gives me the expected result of

09 7bb32000 3d38 - 1 pfil (pfil Streams module 2.1.4)
109 7bb32000 3d38 229 1 pfil (pfil Streams driver 2.1.4)
191 7b200000 26688 228 1 ipf (IP Filter: v4.0.3)

Everything seems to be working fine. When i probe my firewall I get the expected results however i see from time to time this error in my kernel ring buffer

[ID 534713 kern.warning] WARNING: Check pfild is running: IP#/netmask is 0 on eri0

What is going wrong? I have seen this on several different machines
