Interview

I am going to attend an interview for a Solaris admin position. What questions should I expect to be asked?

Thank regards

Every interviewer has probably its own set.

Of course you'll be asked for your experience, skills, availability, references ...

Technical questions may or may not take a large part of the interview, that depends a lot on who is asking the questions.

Huge variation in questions depending on where it is.
I would expect questions like:
How do you jumpstart a server?
vi commands
simple scripting
adding/modifying services
openboot/init level questions
hardware troubleshooting
shell commands

Yep, I would add also questions about:
networking, routing, how to low level configure a network interface, firewalls,
storage, disks, mirroring, NAS,
remote management LOM, RSC,
Sun Rays,
Commands to monitor a system,
Solaris 10 features (Zones, Resource management, Dtrace, SMF, RBAC, ZFS).

And a killer question: "Which one do you think is the best O/S, Solaris or Linux ?"

It really depends on the position.

When I interview someone I usually ask general troubleshooting questions like - "A box is running slow what do you do?"
