Installing linux on a sparc

Whats the easiest way to install linux on a Ultra 10? Is there a Sun-bootable install CD out there?

Well, if your going to install Linux on a Sparc, why would you need a sun bootable cd?

Most Linux distro's that are designed to run on a Sparc are bootable themselves to start the installation.

I guess what I'm asking is 'what distro has sun bootable installation cds?' None of my SuSE cds (7.2, 8.0,8.2) will boot a sparc.

You will have to download and burn the Sparc platform specific's. Check out www.linuxiso.org for distro's that have Sparc platforms. I think Suse's last was 8.0 and Redhat was 6.2. Mandrake is up to date with a 9.1 Sparc platform I think..

Another way to boot is over the network. Good for a learning experience.
