Installing a serial modem from command line

Hi,

I need to installa serial modem (some usr robotics one) to a serial port. Now, I can do it through smc, and admintool, but in this case I don't have this luxury. Can someone give me some tips on where to start.

Thanks

I just was working on this particular subject. I installed a serial modem on a Sunblade 1500 (It was a USR also). I was using the program "tip" to communicate with the modem. I installed it on COM1 (it was labeled serial port 1 on the back of the machine) and to connect to the modem I used "tip /dev/ttya". Then you just need to use the AT command set to communicate with it.
