I have Vista, Ubuntu and Solaris 10 installed on my computer at home (setup only a couple of days ago). I have a SpeedTouch USB Modem supplied by Demon. Vista installed the drivers automatically and it all works fine. As yet, I have not had time to install it on Ubuntu, although I am hoping that it won't be any problem. I originally didn't think I needed to install it Solaris, but I have decided that the use of the internet would be good on my development environment. I have not had chance to find out the revision model of the modem, that is a job for when I get home from work tonight.

My question is, has anyone else had experience with S10 and SpeedTouch USB Modems?

I'm not aware of any USB modem being supported under Solaris.

The common way to connect to the Internet is through Ethernet and a router.
