HP PhotoSmart 8450
Anyone successfully setup Solaris to print to this type of printer? It *is* networked.
I've had great success with HP laser printers (as well as other brands such as Xerox/Tektronix and Samsung), but haven't managed to get this inkjet working... Appears that it may not be *directly* supported, but there are older PhotoSmart drivers that might work. I don't seem to get that far though, seems like I just can't "find" it on the network. Was able to configure my Mac to use BSD style printing to it just fine (orginally, but that's a long story. My Mac OS X install is now broken and won't print properly to anything anymore!). |
Not sure how close if at all solaris is to linux but maybe the HP drivers will work.

Hmmm, looks like it could be somewhat involved to do on Solaris, what with all the extra packages required and all... I think I'll pass on that option, I just don't have that much time to invest right now :)
Still would like to print to the printer from Solaris, but for now I can just print the stuff from my Mac. |
