HP JetDirect Printer in a zone

Hi!, I am currently having an issue adding a printer to my spool within a Solaris zone using the HP JetDirect tool. When I try to commit my printer via hppi I keep getting the error below:

Please indicate prt05's printer type (q - quit): 56

The following is a list of suggested parameter values for this queue. You
may change any settings by selecting the corresponding non-zero numbers.
The values will be used to configure this queue when '0' is selected.
To abort the operation, press 'q'.

Configurable Parameters: Current Settings
----------------------- ----------------
1) Lp destination (queue) name [prt05_1]
2) Status log [(No log)]
3) Queue class [(not assigned)]
4) Default queue [NO]
5) Additional printer configuration...

Select an item for change, or '0' to configure (q-quit): 0

Ready to configure prt05_1.
OK to continue? (y/n/q, default=y) y

mknod: Not owner
chmod: WARNING: can't access /dev/prt05_1

Addprinter error: can't find /etc/lp/interfaces/prt05_1

I have read that within a solaris zone mknod is not permitted. How else would you add printers in a zone? I was thinking of using rsync to sync the spools from the global? If anyone has any solution to getting around this issue it would be appreciated.

Thanks

Update looks like the lpadmin commands function well to add a zone without mknod being used. I will be going this route.
