How to recover a lost username / password for Solaris 7 at gui login screen
 

Does anyone know of a way to recover username and passwords in Solaris 7. The box I have is an Ultra SparcII Dual 350, with 1GB Ram. It was being thrown out where I used to work and I was hoping to be able to recover the password to clean the system. I do not have access to the OS CD. Would I better off to dump the Solaris and install one of the Linux distros for Sparc?

Any help is appreciated.

You can download solaris express 10 CD images, boot on it and blank root's password on the disk.
If you want to dump Solaris 7, you'd rather do it for Solaris 10.
