help id'ing a Sun machine

I have an option to buy a Sun machine, but I know less than nothing about them.

My curiosity has got the better of me so...

A used comp store has a box for sale, it is sort of a redish/purple colour, and kind of thin, long, sort of turned around and standing on feet, reminds me of Apple in a way

I can't show too much interest in it because being a foreigner here (Thailand) will double the price off the bat, but I am interested in it just for an experiment/learning thing.

I googled a lot but didn't find any pics that look like this thing, and I don't want to pay for
something that I can't use.

What questions should I ask and how should I check out the machine before plumping down my hard earned ?

Thanks for any info

The thing to do is find the model 1st then look up the prices and specs. Is this a desktop/workstation
or is it server case ? If you feel strange asking the model or think the sales person will not be truthful
try and sneak a picture of it (cell phone camera?) , post the pic here and I'm sure some one will know
something about it .

Thanks for the replies, sorry for giving so little info in my first post. I'll head back to the shop today and see if I can get more.

I am an idiot.

The machine is a Silicon Graphics Indigo 2 but at almost 1000 us$ it is too much for me.

They do have some Suns too, model s-7/4000 ui but the specs seem rather low for the money (approx 200$ without any peripherals) so I'll stick with intel until I get rich

Thanks again,

mark
