For all you Solaris experts question??

OK, please look below here on what Im takling about here and I hope some of you know that this is Solairs or other type of UNIX OS.

Im running Solaris 9 myself. But I never came across this at home. Im only seeing this at my workstation connecting to a UNIX Sol9 Host using Telnet. at my work.
And also, when I logon it says at the left hand corner this:

"DDS UNIX SOL9 VERSION 8.0" and its a menu-type option selection screen too so I cannot do a UNAME -A...or other type of command line entries.

But what does this ".CASF" stand for??? Or, is this having to do with the application thats running on Solaris which is the COGNOS POWERHOUSE program???

Can someone have a little insight to this please?

.CASF I dont think its part of the Solaris OS. I think maybe its got to do with the POWERHOUSE application that its running on because my Solaris does not eben have this info after I logon to my machine...

I know at work, the Solaris host was created using .KSH Korne Shell...Thats all I know.

Thanks.

It's probably part of your menu program, which is likely a bit more than a simple menu program ;).

It's nothing to do with PowerHouse, nor Solaris.

So the host could be running on Solaris, but those messages itself, does not pertain to Solaris system mesgages itself??? Am I right or wrong?

Yep, seems to be.

I mean the messages are obviously from an authentication handler, but I've not seen that on any SPARC box I've worked with. If you found out what the authentication source is you'll probably find where the messages are coming from.
