Hi

Any one know any guide line for Etc/system file(unix-solaris) ,
what is content ,how can i used and what is used for,...etc

/etc/system is used for a variety of reasons. Although I agree that you should do some reading since it is a complex issue, for example, /etc/system loads drivers via the forceload section.

So if you install veritas volume manager, you will see new entries added to forceload vxio and vxspec.

Furthermore, /etc/system is used to change the value of kernel tunable parameters (althoug in solaris 10, a lot of them now get set up via projects). The syntax is shown at the end of the file.

ex: set tunable_parameter=value

Ps: You can download the tunables guide for further detail.

By the way, that was just two examples. It also does other things. Read the file, it's ascii. You will see other sections like the exclude section to exclude drivers from loading (let's say for testing purposes) and a few more.
