/etc/inet/hosts modification question

Hi,

If I modify /etc/inet/hosts modification file with new hostname, do I need to reboot the box? I'm running solaris 8.

I don't think you need to reboot the machine. Aren't you seeing the modifications you did?

Which host name are you changing in /etc/inet/hosts? The local machine or something else? If you want to change the actual host name of the local machine there is a little more to it..
